The Big Birthday Bash

This year we did a combined birthday party for Drew and Emily. With only 6 days between their birthdays and the fact that we invite the same people to both, we figured at this age they 1) won't care if they share the party, and 2) don't really know the difference at this point. In preparation for the party, I kept asking what they would like for their cakes. I think I casually said owl in one of my lists of suggestions and Emily grabbed ahold of that idea! Drew, on the other hand, liked the idea of a race car, and what other race car can top Lightening McQueen?!

Despite the look on their faces, they did have a good time and loved their cake! One of the gifts they got was this picnic table from Grandma and Grandpa. They had so much fun sitting at it and sharing it with all their cousins and friends. And our friends and family are great! Don't these scenes look like the perfect backyard barbecue birthday party? Complete with present opening!



I love this picture below! All the kiddos lined up. With that many kids, do you really think we had a chance of getting them all to sit and smile at the camera?! There are 12 in this shot, but that is without baby cousin Kamden who was sleeping. We had a fun time after the party too, when we got out the pool and squirt guns. Fun summer days!
