A Whirlwind Weekend to Minnesota-June 21-25

Thursday night we headed out on our journey to Minnesota. We weren't sure how Drew would do in the car that long, but sitting next to him in the backseat with a bag of toys did the trick. After an overnight near Madison, WI, we went on to the Mall of America in the Twin Cities. We met up with Kristi and RJ for some fun at Lego Land. We left the mall around 5pm to head up north to the cabin in the woods. Saturday was Uncle Donnie's wedding where we gathered with all the extended family and got to spend some time with my Grandma. Although she won't remember that day, we enjoyed taking pictures with Drew's other Great Grandma. Sunday afternoon we left the cabin and headed for Chicago. Again we had an overnight in Madison and another drive Monday morning until we reached the Museum of Science and Industry. We celebrated Bryan's birthday touring the museum learning about submarines, hotdogs lasting 25 years in landfills, and the city of the future. We also learned that the museum is not right off the highway and spent another hour or so getting out of the city. After being rerouted off the highway near the Indiana/Michigan border, we made it home around 10pm. Drew did so well on our trip, but we were definitely glad to be home and he was glad to get out of that carseat.
